Tottenham star Xavi Simmons appears to have deleted a post from his Instagram profile, causing major concern among Spurs officials.

The social media deletion follows a chaotic afternoon at Molineux on Saturday, with an important win overshadowed by a potentially season-ending injury for the Dutch playmaker.

Xavi Simmons furious at fans after injury against Wolves

The 23-year-old’s afternoon took a dark turn when he was sent off in the 63rd minute with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

Video footage captured a heated and violent exchange between the player and the home supporters as Simmons was carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

Simmons, clearly in pain from his injury, responded defiantly and openly to the insults hurled at him by Wolves fans.

Xavi Simmons deletes Instagram post

On Sunday, it emerged that Simmons had deleted all Tottenham-related photos from his Instagram account.

He continued to delete all photos from his account after that, leaving fans confused.

This move often signals a player’s departure or is a sign of extreme internal dissatisfaction, and supporters are searching for answers.

Simmons posted a message about the win on Sunday morning, but the absence of his past Spurs media has fueled intense speculation.

It remains to be seen whether this deletion is a reaction to the injury, the abuse he suffered at Molineux, or a deeper issue regarding his future at the club.

Injuries hit Spurs in battle for survival

The timing couldn’t have been worse for Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Spurs currently sit 18th in the Premier League and are fighting to avoid relegation for the first time since 1977.

Simmons has been a rare bright spot in a difficult season and the possibility of him missing the remaining four games against Aston Villa, Leeds, Chelsea and Everton would be a crushing blow.

As the club awaits official test results on Monday or Tuesday, fans are hoping his social media activity is just a temporary blackout rather than a permanent farewell.

update:

The deletion of the post from Instagram appears to be related to the injury he sustained against the Wolves.

Simmons has now posted an emotional post confirming that his injury is long-term and will cause him to miss the rest of the season and the World Cup.

“They say life can be cruel sometimes, and that’s how I feel today. My season came to an abrupt end and I’m just trying to process it. Honestly, I’m heartbroken. None of it makes any sense. All I wanted to do was fight for the team. , and now the ability to do that has been taken away from me with the World Cup. I’m no longer representing my country this summer. It’s going to take some time to come to terms with this situation, but I’m going to continue to be the best.”

“I walk this path now, guided by faith, with strength, resilience, and conviction. I count down the days until I get back there. Be patient. TTP. COYS.”
