Manchester United are currently on high alert in the race to sign Donyell Malen, who has been in great form since completing his move to AS Roma in January.

Manchester United plot move for Donyell Malen

Manchester United can seal their place in the Champions League and move one over over their rivals by defeating Liverpool on Sunday. It could be the perfect afternoon for the Red Devils on Sunday.

If they can qualify for the Champions League, it will definitely give them an advantage in terms of transfers. The Old Trafford outfit have already set their sights on the likes of Aurelien Choameny and are now reportedly shifting their focus to their attacking star.

According to Corriere dello Sport, reported by Sport Witness, Man United are currently on high alert in the race to sign Malen, despite Roma looking to complete a permanent move for the Dutchman.

The Aston Villa man has been in sensational form since arriving in Roma on loan in January. The Italians are therefore almost certain to make this move permanent.

But that’s where the problems can start. According to reports in Italy, Man United are eyeing Malen, forcing Roma to offer a hefty €50 million (about 4.3 billion yen) before making a formal sale.

It’s easy to see why Malen is attracting interest from Old Trafford. The 27-year-old has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, 12 of which have come in Italy. Since completing his mid-season transfer, he has truly been obsessed with the man.

United could have another clinical finisher.

The only risk, of course, is whether it’s just purpura or whether Mullen has finally found his best form. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will find an answer to that question this summer.

Carrick says Liverpool is a ‘completely different ball game’

All eyes will be on Old Trafford on Sunday as Man United aim to beat Liverpool for the first time in 2015 and complete the double.

Michael Carrick is well aware of the importance of this match, having played a frequent role in it, and this will be his first time in charge. The caretaker manager understands that it can be a “completely different ball game” against Liverpool and that things can often go awry.

“We are very aware of the situation in the league and the closeness between us, but we are not particularly focused going into this game. I think it is a one-off game. “They have great players, they are a good team and they won the league last year.

“Obviously we respect everything involved in the game. We treat the game that way, as a one-off game. That’s what the league standings are, but Sunday is a whole different ballgame,” Carrick said.

It’s all on the line for Man United on Sunday as they have a chance to help Bruno Fernandes as he looks to win Champions League football and complete his incredible assist record.
