Manchester United are currently in internal discussions about signing Christian Pulisic this summer, as he enters his final 12 months at AC Milan.

Manchester United discuss Pulisic transfer

It’s a big summer for the Red Devils. The first item on their priority list is finding a permanent manager. Michael Carrick has done a more than commendable job as caretaker manager, but names like Andoni Iraola still threaten to steal the headlines, leaving INEOS with important decisions to make.

The second item on their list is to find reinforcements, bringing in an attacking addition that would allow them to pick up where they left off during their last great summer transfer window. Last time it was Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesco and Brian Mbeumo, but in a year’s time it could be Pulisic.

The Red Devils are planning their moves…

According to TeamTalk, Man United are currently in internal discussions about signing Pulisic, and he already has a big fan in Christopher Wivel. Add in the fact that his current contract with AC Milan expires in 12 months, and a deal certainly looks possible.

The U.S. international has been involved in 13 goals in all competitions so far this season, scoring 10 points and providing three assists. This follows on from his previous excellent campaign, in which he was involved in 29 goals, and highlights how he has reached the height of his powers.

Pulisic, like De Bruyne, could complete Manchester United’s attack

It would be easy to think that Man United’s attacking rebuild is complete, but the likely addition of Champions League football next season means Man United can use as much depth as possible. That’s why Pulisic’s transfer could be key.

The American certainly has a lot to prove in the Premier League, having failed to set the world on fire during his time at Chelsea. But as many have proven before, failure at Chelsea does not necessarily mean failure elsewhere.

This is what former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard touched on when comparing De Bruyne and Pulisic ahead of his return to England in the summer.

“We’re going to put him in a very high class here…Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah, we know the finished product now. You say those names and people say, ‘What? These are the two greatest players in the history of the Premier League’, but I remember Kevin De Bruyne at Chelsea and I remember Mohamed Salah at Chelsea.”

Former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli was also quick to praise the winger during his time at the club, describing him as “smart”. That, and Howard’s verdict, should prompt Man United to take action.
