Roberto De Zerbi spotted at Stamford Bridge

Sky Sports cameras captured Spurs head coach in his private box at Stamford Bridge Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest.

Interestingly, De Zerbi was seen in deep conversation with Chelsea’s global recruitment director Sam Jewell, a familiar face from his successful days at Brighton.

De Zerbi’s appearance at the bridge sent a clear message to the Tottenham faithful that the job is not done yet.

With an important trip to west London scheduled for Tuesday 19th May, the manager is not leaving anything to chance.

This ‘no-rest’ mentality is what Spurs need now to successfully avoid relegation.

De Zerbi has chosen to spend the day off analyzing his future opponents rather than resting, showing the level of preparation and tenacity that top managers are known for.

Roberto De Zerbi made an instant impact at Spurs

Since taking over as interim manager Igor Tudor, De Zerbi has brought about a major turnaround in north London.

Prior to his appointment, Tottenham had endured an astonishing 15-game winless run and were perilously low in the bottom three.

However, consecutive away wins against Wolves and Aston Villa changed the atmosphere at the club.

De Zerbi not only strengthened the defense alongside Mickey van de Ven and Kevin Danso, but also succeeded in getting the most out of a Spurs side that was suffering from a decline in physical strength.

That includes Conor Gallagher, who had his best game in a Spurs shirt in the 2-1 win over Villa.

De Zerbi’s hands-on approach gives Spurs a much-needed clinical edge as they prepare for a final push to ensure they remain in the Premier League.
