Mohamed Salah has decided to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, and the Egyptian star will need to be replaced.
West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen could be the ideal signing for the Premier League champions, according to former Liverpool striker Michael Owen.
The 29-year-old has had a consistent performance in the Premier League since joining West Ham from Hull City. He is certainly one of the best offensive players in the league right now and is at the peak of his career. Owen believes he could be the ideal replacement for the Egyptian.
Owen told talkSPORT: “True top finisher, amazing. He would be my idea of a replacement for Salah if West Ham went down. ”
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool make a move for him at the end of the season. The 29-year-old will play on the right wing and add goals and creativity to the team.
The opportunity to play for Liverpool will be exciting for him. Despite his struggles at West Ham, he has shown his quality and is clearly ahead of them. He deserves to compete at a higher level and Liverpool could provide him with that platform.
West Ham are fighting for survival in the Premier League and could end up in the Championship if they don’t finish the season on a strong note. If that happens, it will be difficult to keep the best players next season. It remains to be seen whether Bowen will decide to move in the summer.
The 29-year-old attacker has scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions. His numbers could improve even more if he plays on a better team with top-level players.
