Bayern Munich are reportedly set to back sporting director Max Eberl in a bid to move Anthony Gordon, but he will have to lower his fee.

As reported by Christian Falk in his latest column for CF Bayern Insider, Newcastle United could be seeking up to £75m for Gordon.

According to Falk, the club’s board is keen to sign the player, but the price is low and appears to be too much for Bayern.

It remains to be seen what kind of deal will be reached, with Bayern initially considering paying around £51.9m, a far cry from Newcastle’s valuation.

Anthony Gordon, Christian Falk to Bayern Munich

Regarding the latest on Gordon’s transfer turmoil, Falk explained that an important meeting had taken place between Eberle and the Bayern board to discuss plans for this summer.

England international Gordon has played a huge role in the team’s strong performances in the Premier League and Champions League this season, but it is clear that this will not come easily.

“Then the day has come for Max Hebert to announce his plans for the upcoming summer transfer window. The big plan, of course, given what we’ve talked about about him so far, is Anthony Gordon,” Faulk said.

“The big question was whether the supervisory board was prepared to back Hebert at full throttle for an English player and pay the money Newcastle were asking for. The answer was yes. The supervisory board would support Hebert, but Hebert would have to come down on price a bit.”

“My colleague Ben Jacobs has also confirmed that he has reached an agreement with the player, and it looks like the transfer fee is approaching £75m (about €86.5m). That’s slightly less than the £80m we previously talked about, but still too expensive for Bayern Munich.”

“This is going to be the key point. Max Eber has to get his transfer fee close to what Bayern are prepared to pay. Initially, they were thinking about the following.” €60m (£51.9m), but that’s not enough. Perhaps you can connect add-ons or spread out the transfers over years to make it work.

“Anyway, the big decision was for Bayern to sign Anthony Gordon. They want him this summer. If that goes well, there probably won’t be any need for further transfers.”

“Of course, it is Bayern’s nature to keep replacement players in mind, which is why we have a ‘B-list’ of attacking players in case things do not go well. Ajax’s Mika Gotts is also one of the names on the list, but they have no intention of signing him at the moment. Of course not while they believe Gordon is available. ”

Who else would be a candidate to replace Anthony Gordon?

Gordon’s future is still undecided, but it is certainly looking increasingly likely that he will not be at Newcastle next season.

Fabrizio Romano I recently reported on him. YouTube channel There is a “significant possibility” that Gordon will leave St James’ Park at the end of the season.

The Telegraph previously reported that the England international has also been linked with Chelsea by manager Simon Phillips, and Liverpool and Arsenal could also be worth keeping an eye on.

In many ways Gordon could make sense for these clubs, as Bayern already have the quality and depth in attack and it would be difficult to see the 25-year-old playing regularly at the Allianz Arena.
