Arsenal reportedly have serious concerns about Gabriel Martinelli’s future, with the Brazilian winger’s contract set to expire in a year’s time.

According to a report in Spain’s Fichajes, the 24-year-old is on the radar of Barcelona and could be signed for around 50 million euros this summer.

It remains to be seen what will become of Martinelli, but Fichajes’ report explains that the Gunners are very concerned about the situation.

Losing Martinelli on a free transfer would certainly be a blow for Arsenal, but at the same time they may not be too keen on giving him a new contract after his very inconsistent form this season.

That may be the best option for AFC, but if there is real, concrete interest from Barça, it may be wise to consider selling him now.

If Arsenal want to progress as a club, they will likely need to make major additions to their attacking line-up this summer, as Martinelli has not been able to play his part week in, week out in the Premier League this season.

The Brazil international has scored just one league goal this season, despite his impressive record with six goals in the Champions League and four in the FA Cup.

Barcelona could sign Gabriel Martinelli for Marcus Rashford

With loanee Marcus Rashford likely not remaining at Barcelona, Martinelli would be the ideal replacement, perhaps as a player who could fill the void on the left or up front.

Arsenal should take advantage of this situation and do their best to bankroll 50 million euros for Martinelli while they can.

If they can make that much money by letting Martinelli go, it could be a huge boost to help them fund the acquisition of better players in this summer’s transfer window.
