Sunderland are hoping to agree a new deal with talented young attacker Finn Geragusyan.

The 18-year-old has had a great time with the youth team, contributing 35 goals in 60 games. The teenager is already an international player for the Armenian national team and several clubs are monitoring his development.

Scottish side Rangers are keen to sign the player, with the Sunderland Echo reporting that the Premier League side are aiming to sign him to a new contract and have no intention of letting him leave. It remains to be seen whether all parties will be able to reach an agreement.

Sunderland have performed very well since promotion and are eyeing a mid-table spot. They will aim to establish themselves as Premier League regulars. They need to develop for the future and it would be ideal to keep one of their most talented young players at the club.

It remains to be seen whether they can convince the youngster to stay at the club and sign a new contract. The 18-year-old striker will want to compete at a high level and Sunderland will need to offer him a clear path to the first team. Playing in the Premier League could help him develop further and realize his potential.

The opportunity to continue playing for a Premier League club could be exciting for the young attacker. He is highly regarded within the club and is likely to get a chance to play in the first team again next season. It would make sense for him to stay in a familiar environment and continue to develop.
