Manchester City faced Chelsea in the FA Cup final and took the lead.
Antoine Semenyo, who joined in January, broke the deadlock with a superb finish late in the second half and could potentially contribute to Manchester City’s domestic cup victory.
The Ghanaian has been in excellent form this season and has carried over his impressive form from Bournemouth to his new club. BBC pundits Alan Shearer, Paul Robinson and Guy Mowbray all said the same thing about the African forward, who has been outstanding this season.
Shearer told the BBC: “That was amazing. It really was. The ability to do that in such a small area. The keeper had no chance. It was a great goal. There was quality all around.”
Robinson added: “It was amazing. Antoine Semenyo was amazing. The timing of the run and the finish was unbelievable.”
“It’s special. It was a final that required some ingenuity,” Mowbray said.
Manager John Murray added that Semenyo is one of the players signed for this season. Manchester City had struggled in the first half of the season, but the addition of attackers turned things around and they were able to compete with Arsenal for the league title. He also helped win the English League Cup.
Manchester City are currently chasing Arsenal in the title race and it remains to be seen whether they can win the Premier League. They need to win their remaining games and hope Arsenal drop points and survive.
