Brighton midfielder Matt O’Reilly has been linked with leaving the club at the end of the season, with Tottenham Hotspur interested in him.

Robert de Zerbi wants to sign the 25-year-old Denmark international for a transfer fee of £35m.

According to a report in German publication Fussball Daten, Tottenham are ready to “complete the formalities” towards a deal. There are also rumors of links with clubs such as Atlético Madrid.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get their moves together quickly. They had a disappointing season but will look to get back on track next season. Signing the right players will help them improve.

The 25-year-old central midfielder adds creativity, drive and technical ability in the middle of the park. He could be the ideal partner for players like Conor Gallagher and Pape Matar Sarr. He has scored two goals and provided six assists this season.

The opportunity to join the north London club could be exciting for the 25-year-old. He is at the peak of his career and it is the perfect time to join a bigger club. Tottenham have had a disappointing season, but they are one of the biggest clubs in the country and could be fighting for trophies next season. They have a quality manager and several top players at their disposal.

With some smart additions, they could bounce back strongly and compete for the top end of the table once again.

£35m seems like a reasonable valuation for a player like him and would justify investing in his future. He is well established in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact at Tottenham.
