Real Madrid and Barcelona ready to compete for £80m Chelsea talent

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill could leave the club at the end of the season.

Sports Boom reports that Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in the 22-year-old central defender.

Chelsea have had a disappointing season and are under financial pressure. They have missed out on qualifying for next season’s Champions League, which will be a huge hit to their revenue. It remains to be seen whether they are prepared to sell players to make ends meet.

The 22-year-old would be a long-term signing, with Barcelona and Real Madrid likely to use more quality players in their defensive units. Although he struggled with injuries at Chelsea, he showed his potential in the Premier League with Brighton. There is no doubt that he has the quality to play for a big club. With the right guidance, he could develop into a future star.

Chelsea have looked very poor at the back this season and selling one of their best young defenders would be a mistake. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly considering making offers of around 65 million euros for the player in the coming weeks. However, Chelsea will not let him leave for less than £80m.

The difference in valuation is huge and it seems unlikely that the Spanish club will be able to conclude a deal. The 22-year-old also has no reason to leave Chelsea and is unlikely to be forced to leave. Clubs hoping to sign the Chelsea defender will have to wait for now.
