Sunderland are interested in signing Jeffrey Kondogbia in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Media Foot, they are monitoring the Marseille midfielder, who has struggled to get regular play this season. He has played just 593 minutes with the first team in the league.

He would want to play more often and Sunderland could offer him that opportunity. The 33-year-old has the experience and qualities to help Sunderland and could be a very useful option for them. The French team paid €8 million to sign the player in 2023 and could sign him for a knockdown price this summer.

Sunderland have had an impressive season and will be looking to build on it. They could use more quality and experience within the squad as they aim to establish themselves as Premier League regulars. Kondogbia is a short-term acquisition, but could be a useful option for them.

The opportunity to play in the Premier League at this stage of his career could be exciting for the player. The 33-year-old will aim to adapt quickly to English football and make an immediate impact.

Sunderland made a similar move when they signed Granit Xhaka. they will want it. Kondogbia can make a similar impact as the Swiss international.

It will be interesting to see if Sunderland make a formal offer and seal a deal depending on their interest.

It is not difficult to convince a midfielder to join the club. He will want to play more often next season and an English club could provide him with the platform he needs.
