  • Lewis family vow to make big changes at Tottenham this summer
  • Tottenham advance talks to sign Savinho
        • After Senesi: Spurs enter club negotiations to sign new Modric

Contract negotiations are currently underway for Tottenham Hotspur’s “incredible” £60m star and he believes he is keen on a move, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

Lewis family vow to make big changes at Tottenham this summer

In a recent letter to supporters, the Lewis family promised to make some key changes this summer after Tottenham finished 17th in the Premier League for the second consecutive year.

“Our ambition is to restore the spirit of the club and bring back the exciting, fearless and bold football that we have always felt defined us. That means football comes first. The board and executive team have set out a plan to achieve this ambition.”

“This will require investment in our squad, our academy, our backroom functions etc, but we are fully committed to this. We are not selling the club. We are all on board. We are investing in it. We will find out more in the coming months.”

“We care deeply about Spurs. The rebuilding that the club needs and you deserve has begun. The changes needed are deep. It will take time and commitment, but the changes are happening.”

Spurs have already started to strengthen their defence, and are close to signing left-back Andy Robertson from Liverpool and Marco Senesi from AFC Bournemouth, although both players’ current contracts are due to expire this summer.

Sabinho has also been identified as a target, with the £60m worth winger set to play limited games for Manchester City throughout the 2025-26 season, but new updates have emerged on the north Londoners’ pursuit.

Tottenham advance talks to sign Savinho

In a recent X post, Romano revealed that Tottenham are in advanced contract talks with the Brazilian, who is believed to be keen on a move to north London.

A relocation expert said: “As revealed two weeks ago, negotiations for Sabinho to move to Tottenham are ongoing…and progressing well. #THFC believes that Sabinho wants to leave. Negotiations are ongoing as a good offer from Man City could open the door for him to leave. Let’s negotiate.”

Manager Josep Guardiola was reluctant to give the 22-year-old regular minutes last season, but he has been impressed with his performances in the past and said after the 2-0 win against Leicester City in 2024-25: “I’m very happy with Sabinho, the incredible ability and quality he can demonstrate.”

“I’m really, really happy for him. As far as games, goals and assists, if he’s playing on the left he can make crosses…I’m very happy.”

The 13-cap Brazil international has made 84 appearances for City, scoring seven goals and providing 16 assists, but was not included in Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad.

So if Sabinho’s career really takes off, he may need to move to a club where he can be more guaranteed consistent game time, with a move to Spurs potentially being ideal.
