Liverpool’s summer recruitment drive shows little sign of slowing down as the club prepares for a new era under manager Andoni Iraola.
The Spaniard is expected to become Liverpool’s new head coach following the departure of Arne Slott, and all eyes are already on players who could help form the first team at Anfield.
Several transfer rumors have surfaced over the past week, underscoring Liverpool’s determination to get back to chasing Premier League titles.
One name that continues to dominate the headlines is Yann Diomand.
According to a recent report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are aiming to complete a deal for the highly-rated winger before the start of the World Cup.
Plettenberg also reported in May that Man City had held talks with PSG regarding Diomande, underscoring the level of competition for one of Europe’s most exciting young attacking talents.

The Reds are facing the possibility of his departure.
As Iraola begins to assess the team he will take over, Liverpool have also mentioned strengthening their defense and further midfield reinforcements.
It is hoped that the new manager will give the team his own unique assessment while maximizing the potential of the players already at the club.
Given the links with Iraola, there will inevitably be links with some of Bournemouth’s stars, and it’s not just the most talked about names like Ryan and Eli Junior Crupi.
Liverpool set to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott
Liverpool are considering a £40m bid for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, with Iraola potentially making him their “first signing of the summer”, according to journalist Jamie Dickenson.
However, his report adds that Bournemouth value the England international at around £60m, meaning there is still a huge gap between the two clubs’ apparent valuations.
The Scot developed under Iraola at Bournemouth and developed into one of the Premier League’s outstanding young midfielders in the 2025/26 season.
A reunion at Anfield would make sense from a footballing point of view, especially given what Iraola knows about the player’s strengths and potential.
Scott is currently in Miami manager Thomas Tuchel’s England squad and could make his senior international debut against New Zealand after an excellent season at club level.
Beyond the raw statistics, Scott’s all-round performance drew widespread praise.
The 22-year-old has become one of the key figures in Bournemouth’s midfield, combining his technical quality with constant energy and creativity. His ability to play multiple midfield roles also increased his value.
Liverpool aren’t the only club paying attention.
Dickenson said both Tottenham and Man United were monitoring the situation closely. Spurs’ interest is particularly noteworthy given Scott’s previously reported support for his childhood north London club.
If a formal offer is received, increased competition could strengthen Bournemouth’s negotiating position.
For Liverpool, much will depend on how strongly Iraola pushes for a reunion.
The new manager knows exactly what Scott can bring to the table and may see Scott as an ideal fit for the high-intensity style of football he wants his team to play.
At £60 million, Bournemouth clearly consider Scott one of their most valuable assets. It remains unclear whether Liverpool are prepared to approach that valuation.
But what is clear is that the midfielder’s stock continues to rise.
After a fantastic season on the south coast, Scott rose to prominence in England and became one of the hottest young players in English football.
