Fabrizio Romano reveals Juventus interested in Emiliano Martinez
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Bianconeri have quickly turned their attention to Martinez as their new priority target in their bid to take the number one spot.
Romano wrote on X: “It appears that Juventus want Div Martinez as their priority target for the goalkeeper position after Alisson’s release. Negotiations have started on price, contract details and a high salary, but Juve are keen to explore a move. Another option remains Spurs goalkeeper Vicario.”
Juventus are keen to secure their 2022 World Cup winners, but are well aware that any potential deal will be complicated.
The Argentine shot-stopper is demanding a hefty salary package that will test the pay structure of Serie A clubs.
Tottenham star Guglielmo Vicario remains an alternative option
Juventus are thought to have alternative plans in place if negotiations for Martinez prove too complicated.
Guglielmo Vicario remains highly regarded by the Turin club and is seen as a strong candidate should a deal for Martinez not materialize.
The Tottenham goalkeeper has been linked with a move this summer, with several Serie A clubs including Inter Milan showing interest in the Italian.
Aston Villa could be forced to sell Emiliano Martinez
Despite Martinez’s huge popularity in the Midlands and recent success on the pitch, Aston Villa could find themselves in a position where they have to consider a serious offer.
As Villa continue to invest in the remaining members of Unai Emery’s squad, Villa may look to liquidate high-value assets to even the books.
A big-money bid from Juventus for the 33-year-old could be the perfect cash injection for the Premier League side, but the final decision is likely to depend on whether Juve can meet Martinez’s salary expectations and persuade the fan favorite to move to Italy.
