Manchester United are interested in signing Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

The 35-year-old impressed for Leeds United last season and established himself as Leeds United’s first-choice keeper. According to a report from The Athletic, Manchester United are considering the possibility of signing him.

Darlow has also been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Karl Darlow might be a useful option

Manchester United would like to bring in an experienced back-up option for Senne Lamence, and Darlow could be the ideal player. He will be the team’s representative player, but it remains to be seen whether the 35-year-old is ready to accept the role.

If he signs an extension with Leeds United next season, he could be able to play regularly. Regular football is appealing to the player, but it may be difficult to turn down the opportunity to play for Manchester United at this stage of his career. This is his last chance to join the elite club.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper will soon become a free agent and Manchester United could sign him for a nominal fee. No wonder they are so keen on this player. They won’t want to invest too much in reserve players.

Darlow would be a backup option.

Andre Onana and Altai Baindir are likely to be sold this summer. Understandably, Manchester United need to fill that void and it’s no wonder they are keen on an experienced goalkeeper.

If they want to challenge Arsenal and Manchester City next season, they will need to improve several areas of their squad during the summer transfer window. Adding depth to the team is a top priority. We need more experience and more quality within the squad to rotate the squad and keep key players fresh.

They did very well last season but never had to deal with European football. With a big fixture jam expected in the upcoming campaign, Manchester United will need more players at their disposal to survive the grueling schedule.
