Chelsea are rumored to be a number of targets this summer, but sources have said they have ruled out signing the Premier League star.

The World Cup is being held and the focus is on the soccer world, but behind the scenes, transfers are also starting to progress.

Chelsea are expected to be busy following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as manager. They have already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, but the opposite move is on the cards as the club prepares to aim for a return to the Champions League.

Chelsea give up on signing Premier League star

Bournemouth’s Alex Scott has been named in connection with the Blues and other Premier League teams.

An all-action No. 8, his energy contributed greatly to Andoni Iraola’s success. However, looking at the Blues’ summer plans in an article written by Bobby Vincent for Football.London, it is clear that he is not on the list.

“Alex Scott’s name was mentioned online late last season, but sources close to the club have denied any link with the highly-rated Bournemouth midfielder,” Vincent wrote.

With Chelsea sidelined, teams such as Spurs, Man United and Arsenal should all be able to sign a rising star more clearly. It is unclear what Chelsea’s plans are if Scott is not on the list. They need a reliable midfielder, and this is especially true if Enzo Fernandes leaves the club, which seems likely at the moment.
