Liverpool’s new manager Andoni Iraola is reportedly playing an active role in facilitating a move for RB Leipzig winger Yann Diomande.
According to Team Talk, the exciting young attacker, who scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in the just-ended season, is a top target for the Reds and constructive negotiations are underway.

Their report adds that Iraola is very much in line with Liverpool’s recruitment team on this potential deal and is actively pushing for it to happen.
Iraola had just left Bournemouth and was quickly snapped up by Liverpool, who decided to sack Arne Slott after a disappointing season.
It will be interesting to see how the Spanish tactician fares at Anfield, but working with a player of Diomande’s caliber will definitely help.
Will Andoni Iraola support Yann Diomande’s move?
Diomande looks set to be the next big thing in football after his impressive performances in the Bundesliga, and the 19-year-old’s style of play means he could be the perfect long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
It will not be easy for Iraola to join the Liverpool squad, having had to say goodbye to a club legend like Salah, who left Anfield with an incredible 257 goals in 442 games on Merseyside.

There is no guarantee that Diomande will reach these exceptionally high standards, but being able to rely on a speedy and skilled wide player to threaten the goal would certainly help Iraola.
LFC fans are no doubt worried about Salah’s future. It’s never easy to replace a once-in-a-generation talent like that, but Diomand seems like the real deal and someone worth pursuing.
Iraola has worked well with Bournemouth’s young players so if they do work together this could be a really good game too.
