Another big name could be set to leave Chelsea this summer, as Maro Gusto appears to be looking for a way out.

Marc Cucurella has already left Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid, while Gusto is said to be in talks about a potential move to Manchester City.

According to BBC Sport, if the France international were to leave, the transfer fee would likely be around £75 million.

Man City are expected to announce former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as Josep Guardiola’s replacement, and the Italian tactician could soon be reunited with one of Gusto’s former players.

Gust has generally been solid for Chelsea, but if they were able to raise £75m by selling the 23-year-old, it would be a huge profit and overall a very smart business.

Even if Gusto’s departure is a bit of a blow, CFC appear to be preparing for this by targeting talented young Italian right-back Marco Palestra to replace him.

The Palestra has strong links with Chelsea due to Athletic and other reasons, and there is even a possibility that he will surpass Gusto in the not-too-distant future.

Chelsea, on the other hand, also have Reece James in that position, so signing Gusto could be worth it, even if there is a risk that he continues to enjoy his prime years at their main rivals.

Are Man City looking for a more specialist right-back?

It’s interesting to see City chasing Gusto. Despite Matheus Nunez’s strong form, there are indications that he would like to try something different at the position.

While Nunez started in midfield before adapting well to playing at right-back under Guardiola, Gusto is more of a natural specialist in the role.

Still, £75m is also a lot of money to pay if City don’t appear to need to prioritize the position this summer.
