France were excellent for most of the game, but Dembele in particular remains seen as Les Bleus’ favorites for this World Cup, and Dembele could be aiming for a second successive Ballon d’Or.
Let’s take a look at the French players’ ratings from tonight’s big win against Norway…
French player evaluation
Mike Maignan – 9/10 – He saved the defense several times, including a good penalty save in the second half.
Jules Kunde – 6/10 – It wasn’t the most convincing game for either Jules Kounde or the French defense. This heavily rotated Norwegian team had good chances throughout the match.
Maxence Lacroix – 6/10 – Maxence Lacroix, who was listed as Chelsea’s top transfer target by the likes of L’Equipe, had a solid but unspectacular display for France on Friday night.
Dayo Upamecano – 7/10 – It was a typical strong and sure play from Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano, one of the most powerful French defenders of the night.
Theo Hernandez – 6/10 – Normally an attacking threat at left-back, we saw a somewhat subdued performance from Theo Hernandez tonight.
Aurelien Choameny – 8/10 – Rio Ferdinand showed his former club Manchester United why he wanted to sign him from Real Madrid this summer, leading the way in midfield.
Manu Kohn – 7/10 – Although he wasn’t certain to start for France, Manu Cohn did no harm tonight with an impressive performance against an under-strength Norway side.
Desire Due – 8/10 – One of the many exciting talents in Les Bleus’ attack, Desiree Douai was a threat throughout the game and added her team’s fourth goal with a superb header.

Ousmane Dembele – 10/10 – What a performance! What a player. Ousmane Dembele completed his hat-trick within 32 minutes and all three goals were of exceptional quality. If he continues like this, he will definitely lead France to the trophy.
Michael Orise – 6/10 – An unusually quiet game from Michael Oliseh, but clearly not the most important one either.
Kylian Mbappé – 9/10 – Kylian Mbappé didn’t score this time, but he led the French team with two assists and a great performance.
