  • Blaze Brown is PGA Tour ready

Blaze Brown, 19, will aim to win this week’s John Deere Classic, just as Jordan Spieth did in 2013 when he was the same age.

Since then, Spieth has enjoyed a superstar career, winning 13 times on the PGA Tour, including three major championships.

The 32-year-old has really struggled with his game in recent years and hasn’t won since April 2022.

But if Blaise Brown was offered Jordan Spieth’s career through age 32, he’d probably take it.

Spieth has been trying everything to improve his form lately, but nothing seems to be working.

According to analysis, the Dallas native appears to be suffering from paralysis.

Meanwhile, Brown is at the very start of his PGA Tour journey and will head into this week’s John Deere Classic full of confidence.

In 2013, Spieth holed out from outside the green at TPC Deer Run, forcing a playoff with Zach Johnson and David Hahn.

In an interview with Golf Channel, Brown was asked if he thought Spieth could repeat his victory at the John Deere Classic when he was 19 years old.

“I ended up hitting the ball next to Jordan Spieth this morning and he was striping the ball.“ Mr. Brown said.

“I mean, it was really cool.

“And I know his history with this golf course when he was 19 years old.

“He won it for the first time, and I was walking down the golf course yesterday and I went to check out the chip shot that he held on No. 18 and put it into the playoff, and I was like, “Man, that’s a tough shot.”

“But no, I’m really looking forward to this week.“

Brown certainly has the talent to contend this week in Silvis, Illinois.

He proved he truly is suited for the PGA Tour in January when he paced Scottie Scheffler for three rounds at the American Express and struggled to a round of 74 on the final day.

Blaze Brown is PGA Tour ready

The teenager has qualified for 10 of the 16 PGA Tour events he has played so far.

In these tournaments, he has four top-25s, two top-10s, one top-five, and one third-place finish.

The key for Brown will be managing his expectations while maintaining a quiet belief in his abilities.

Not all young players compete on the PGA Tour and win regularly like Jordan Spieth.

But Blaze Brown has the game and mentality needed to match the 32-year-old’s accomplishments in the game.

It will be interesting to see how he progresses as a player over the next few years.
