Leandro Trossard is expected to join Turkish side Besiktas from Arsenal this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have already given permission to complete the transfer and are currently waiting for the green light to move on for the Belgian.
Romano wrote in X: “Besiktas are continuing negotiations with Leandro Trossard’s camp to sort out the details and get the final green light for the player’s transfer. Arsenal have already given permission for travel and medicals. It’s up to Leandro.”
The 31-year-old has been a key player for Arsenal since joining from Brighton and played a key role in their winning of the Premier League title last season. However, he is in the twilight stages of his career and this is the perfect time for Arsenal to move him.
An agreement has been reached with the Turkish club and the Gunners are currently waiting for the player’s transfer to be finalized so they can bring in the necessary replacement.
Trossard is aiming to play regularly at this stage of his career and a move to Türkiye would be ideal for him. He was a key player for Arsenal last season, but his game time will only decrease if he stays.
He wouldn’t want to sit on the bench of a big club at this stage of his career. He will be able to play every week in Türkiye and show his qualities. He has already proven himself in England and now is the perfect time for a new challenge.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can adequately replace him. They need a dynamic attacker who can score goals and create chances. The Belgian was also versatile enough to play in multiple attacking roles.
