  • Tottenham complete direct checks on Diabate
  • Why Diabaté should prioritize a move to Brighton

Several Premier League clubs have already started their transfer business this summer, spending dizzying fees once again.

Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion have been particularly busy, with the former having spent more than £200m on signings.

The Premier League duo are yet to finish spending, either. They are currently joining Aston Villa in the race to sign young midfield star Ousmane Diabaté.

Football Fancast Verdict

reliability

The summer of midfielders has arrived in the Premier League, with Aston Villa also recently joining the squad, agreeing to sign Johan Manzambi before selling Youri Tielemans to Manchester United. They now have Ousmane Diabaté in their sights, but face competition from Spurs and Brighton, who also have direct checks on the teenager.

finances

In the summer, when there are many exorbitant fees, Diabate is likely to be cheaper. He is a star of the future and will prioritize time above all else as he looks to make his next move from Turkish side Genclair Birlisi.

scouting

The teenager is already being compared to N’Golo Kante and that’s how he is as a midfield disruptor. However, it remains to be seen whether he will join the Premier League as an unknown talent and follow the path of the Frenchman.

impact

Diabaté won’t be grabbing the headlines anytime soon, but it would be an impressive coup for whoever wins the race to sign him, as there is a lot of interest in his arrival.

Diabaté, 18, is quickly becoming a sought-after player in a competition between multiple teams in the Premier League.

Tottenham complete direct checks on Diabate

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have completed direct checks on Diabate, along with Aston Villa, Brighton and Brentford. The 18-year-old midfielder is rapidly becoming a player to watch and is ready to give the green light to a move provided he receives adequate game time to further develop his development.

The big question is whether that puts the Spurs at a disadvantage. They have already spent big to bring in Matheus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. As a result, Diabaté may be forced to prioritize other clubs, as game time will be very important for options outside of the first-team set-up.

Why Diabaté should prioritize a move to Brighton

If Diabaté wants to develop as a young player, there is no better place to do so in English football than at Brighton these days. The Seagulls have become experts at acquiring young stars from afar and developing them into big-money players who are frequently snapped up by top-six clubs.

It’s a difficult process, and one that has sold nearly all of its star players over the years, but it’s also one that has been successful nearly every season.

With rumors surrounding Carlos Baleva continuing, Diabaté could be the perfect option to arrive at Sussex this summer and act as an immediate replacement. Brighton may need a midfielder and he is looking to develop. It’s a perfect match.
