Manchester United are reportedly monitoring the movements of Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa.

Lisandro Martinez has been linked with a move away from the club and Manchester United need a replacement for him. According to reports from Spain, there is interest in the 28-year-old England international as a potential replacement for the Argentina defender.

Is Lisandro Martinez planning to leave?

Atlético Madrid want to sign the Manchester United defender for 40 million euros, but it remains to be seen whether a deal will go ahead. There is no doubt that Martinez is a quality player and his departure would be a blow to Manchester United.

Konsa has performed well for Aston Villa in the Premier League and could be an interesting option. The opportunity to play for Manchester United would be attractive to him. He is at the peak of his career and this could be his last chance to join an elite club. However, Aston Villa are in the UEFA Champions League and will not want to lose their best player.

Can Manchester United sign Ezri Konsa?

They have already confirmed Youri Tielemans’ move to Manchester United. Losing one of their best defenders won’t be an option for them. It may be difficult for Manchester United to convince the West Midlands club. You may have to pay a premium to get the deal done.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old central defender is well established in England and could make an immediate impact if he joins Manchester United.

Konsa can play not only as a right-back but also as a central defender. His versatility would be a bonus if Manchester United were to sign him. Konsa is also rumored to have links with Arsenal.
