Arsenal have increased their interest in Ezri Konsa, with reports suggesting they could join Aston Villa in signing the England defender.
Konsa performed well at Villa Park and was also in good form for England at the 2026 World Cup this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, the 28-year-old has two years left on his contract at Villa and there is some doubt over his future as the Gunners prepare for a move.

This follows today’s article which stated that Arsenal are eyeing Konsa and West Ham’s Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Mikel Arteta will be hoping to add more depth to his defense at the moment after William Saliba was forced off injured in France’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Spain.
Will Ezri Konsa help fill William Rintasa’s void?
Saliba is one of Arsenal’s most important players, so the club won’t want to be without him for too long. The club are yet to confirm how serious his back problem is, despite reports in the French press that he could be out for four to five months.
In any case, the AFC look like they need more options in that area of the team, and Konsa looks like a player who could work well as a back-up, even if he is unlikely to become a starter at the Emirates Stadium.

Once Saliba returns to full fitness, there is no doubt that he and Gabriel Magalhães will continue to be Arteta’s first-choice central defensive partnership for the foreseeable future.
The duo has a solid relationship, and the depth Konsa provides is useful, but it would take something special from him to remove either of them from the starting lineup.
Villa are no doubt keen to keep Konsa, who played a key role in Unai Emery’s side, but have often had to release players to comply with PSR legislation.
Another potential signing for Arsenal and Villa this summer could be Morgan Rodgers, who Fabrizio Romano has named as the Premier League champions’ top target on his YouTube channel.
