Fulham have been comfortably mid-table in the Premier League for the last few years, using the stability that Marco Silva has brought to the club to establish themselves, but without really aiming for the top.
Now that Silva is gone, Los Blancos appear ready to further increase their ambitions. New manager Álvaro Arbeloa has been appointed and his biggest hope is to bring in a big-money No. 9, with whom he has worked previously.
Arbeloa was the manager of Real Madrid’s Castilla youth team, where he saw Gonzalo García develop into an in-demand number nine. He also used the striker last season during his interim period in charge of Madrid’s first team.
Fulham are open to any deal to sign talented striker
Arbeloa is currently at Craven Cottage and would like to take Garcia with him. Marca reported today that Fulham could make a club-record offer of £60 million for him.
It has also been pointed out that Fulham are open to a deal that would see them buy 50% of the striker’s shares, with the opportunity for Real to buy him back or share in future profits.
The report claims that Garcia is not the only Castilla player Arbeloa is eyeing, with midfielder Cesar Palacios also potentially joining for a much more affordable fee.
It looks like it’s going to be a wonderful summer at Craven Cottage.
