Chelsea defender Benoît Badiashile is said to be ‘very likely’ to be left out of the Blues’ projects as transfer hopefuls emerge in the summer.

As first reported here in the Daily Briefing, despite background interest from AC Milan, there has yet to be any contact from the club for Badiashile.

We have also heard that Juventus and Marseille could be the two teams to watch for Badiasile, as he is expected to be available for around 35 million euros this summer.

Chelsea would consider Badiashile removed from their project and would ideally consider selling him on a permanent basis rather than loaning him out.

“Badia Asile is now very likely to be dropped from the Chelsea project,” one industry source told me this morning. “There is also some interest from AC Milan, although there is nothing concrete yet, but we can expect to see Milan and other companies step up their efforts in the coming months.”

“I’m not saying that Chelsea are going to let Badiasile go, but they are very open to offers and would prefer a permanent transfer rather than a loan. His asking price would be around 35 million euros.”

Badiashile would certainly have options if he were to leave Stamford Bridge, but he will no doubt be disappointed not to have made more of the opportunity.

The Frenchman looked very promising when he first joined from Monaco in 2023, but things just didn’t work out for him in English football.

Will Chelsea change their defense?

As I mentioned in my Daily Briefing report, Chelsea were very keen to sign Jeremy Jaquet before Liverpool won the race to sign him.

The west London giants will no doubt continue to look for new reinforcements in that area of the pitch after making the decision to let Badiasile go.

Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo is one of the names linked with Chelsea by Football Insider and they are sure to evaluate a number of other options in the coming weeks and months.
