We’re back for the first NFL Sunday of the year — time to switch from family time to checking the betting app. Anytime touchdown scorer markets have become especially popular because the payouts can be attractive: for example, Keaton Mitchell is +340 for a TD, rookie Jeremiyah Love is +205, and Kyler Murray is +275 in his Vikings debut. Below are five anytime touchdown bets to consider for Week 1 — not chalk picks like Bijan Robinson or Jahmyr Gibbs, but not absolute long shots either. Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook.
1) Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka (+180)
With Mike Evans no longer in Tampa, second-year receiver Emeka Egbuka should be a bigger part of Baker Mayfield’s plan. He started his rookie year hot (25 catches, 445 yards, five TDs in his first five games), and he could replicate that early-season production against a Bengals defense that still has questions.
2) Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (-115)
Barkley has found the end zone in eight straight matchups versus Washington. I’ve seen his anytime-TD price much higher previously, so -115 looks like decent value. Even with Philadelphia’s offense getting changes, Barkley remains a focal point as both a runner and receiver, and Washington’s defense — which allowed 384 yards per game last year — makes a scoring chance likely. If you like first TD props, Barkley at +500 is worth a look too.
3) Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (+250)
Jackson’s 2025 was limited by a nagging hamstring; his rushing totals (349 yards, two TDs) hit career lows. Now healthy, he should be more mobile, and with the Colts’ interior line and Baltimore’s new OL looks, expect Jackson to be forced to scramble at times. He’s been historically strong in Week 1s — the Ravens average 33.3 points in Jackson’s Week 1 starts — so a rushing TD is plausible in Indy.
4) Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (+130)
Johnston has posted back-to-back seasons with roughly 700 receiving yards and eight TDs despite a slow career start. With Mike McDaniel now calling plays in L.A., Johnston could become a deep-threat focal point; a preseason 65-yard TD from Justin Herbert with the first team indicates he can make big plays downfield.
5) Jaguars CB/WR Travis Hunter (+950)
This is a true long shot, but one with upside. Hunter will play more corner this year but will still see some offensive snaps, and I expect Jacksonville to scheme a red-zone package for him against the Browns — partly as a statement after the draft-day trade. At +950 it’s an intriguing flier; I wouldn’t back it if the price were much shorter.
Other player props I like
– Cam Ward to throw an INT (+102): The Jets had no interceptions last year; I expect they’ll give one up in Week 1.
– Aaron Jones Over 28.5 rushing yards (-116): Books favor Jordan Mason, but Jones will still get work, especially facing his former team.
– Malik Willis Over 40.5 rushing yards (-110): Willis cleared this mark in each of his three starts with Green Bay.
– Isaiah Likely Over 35.5 receiving yards (-112): With Mark Andrews gone, Likely should be more involved in the Giants’ passing game, particularly if Malik Nabers is limited.
– Jahmyr Gibbs longest rush Over 18.5 (-112): I’m banking on at least one sizable run against the Saints.
Fan take: Early-week prop markets spotlight how coaching changes and roster moves immediately reshape player roles, so these bets matter beyond just cash — they influence narratives and fantasy value heading into the season. Week 1 performances can set the tone for usage patterns and expectations, making smart early wagers both fun and informative for fans.
