Manchester United held a meeting with representatives of “exceptional” players over the summer move to Old Trafford, according to a new transfer request.

Man Utd is paying attention to more attackers after Mbeumo

The Red Devils appear to be gradually closing in to Brentford forward Brian Mbemo’s move.

The Cameroonians are a great signature for United, but Reuben Amorim knows that further offense reinforcements will be needed before the new Premier League season begins to improve dramatically in last year’s disastrous show on top flight.

Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson has linked his move to Old Trafford with the struggles needed for the No. 9 role, but it remains to be seen whether the Blues will even entertain the idea of selling him to a Premier League rival.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins has been mentioned as an alternative option to lead the United line, with the 29-year-old being a highly experienced and proven player both at the club and international level. Now, another offensive player is being supported to come to the Red Devils this summer.

According to a new report from Sports (via Sports Witness), Manchester United had met with Xavi Simons representatives about their move to the club before the current windows closed in early September.

Chelsea are in the same position as the £67 million RB Leipzig attacker.

Simons is a great option for United, and the 22-year-old has already achieved a lot in his career and is welcomed by Bayern Munich sports director Christoph Frond.

“He’s a very good player. He had a great season with a very good European Championship and Leipzig. He’s grown really well. I think he’s got a really good career at the best level.

Simons was impressed by the Netherlands at the Euro 2024, and is adept at scoring an astounding goal, particularly in the semi-finals against the UK, and is skilled at shining in wide as an offensive midfielder.

Leipzig Ace’s final product is highlighted by an impressive tally of 10 goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga last season, and given his age, he has plenty of time to mature under United’s Amorim.
