RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons is currently one of the most sought after players in the transfer market, and he has linked to several top clubs.

The 22-year-old is a standout for the German club, and his performances have attracted the attention of clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal. It will be interesting to see if the Bundesliga side are ready to leave this summer.

Simons has a technical attribute that thrives in the Premier League and aims to join top clubs that can win trophies.

Xavi Simons: background and early career

The Dutch International achieved the ranks at Spanish club Barcelona, where he was considered an incredible young talent. However, he never plunged into the first team scene for LA La Liga clubs. The player joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2019, and he was expected to develop into the next big thing at the French club.

After failing to secure regular first-team action at the French club, the player joined Dutch costume PSV Eindhoven on a five-year contract. It is here that the Dutch attacker was able to find his footing, where he scored 22 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.

His performance in the Netherlands encouraged PSG to bring him back to the club in the summer of 2023. The German outfit decided last season to make the move permanent, but the player has always been an essential asset ever since.

Chelsea and Arsenal have been deeply connected with the players over the past few weeks, and it’s no surprise that they are passionate about him.

Arsenal needs someone who can slot multiple offensive roles and provide cover and depth on the side. Players like Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Herberts were overwhelmed last season. Mikel Arteta requires a replacement, and the Dutch International fits perfectly with the profile.

He will be able to slot in a wide area and could be a Martin Odegard alternative to the center during spinning or injury.

Similarly, Chelsea need more quality on the sides, especially after the departure of the Noni Maduke. Mykhailo Mudryk also faces a long ban on doping. Simons will help him create opportunities for his teammates and score goals and earn chips.

The versatile attack midfielder is reportedly valued at 70 million euros, so it will be interesting to see where he ends.
