Jannik Sinner, who won four sets over Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon Finals, was clearly not himself on Monday in a rematch between his world rival and top two players.

The sinner retired from an obvious illness in the first set with Alcaraz in Monday’s Cincinnati Open Finals after digging up a 5-0 deficit. The criminal stayed in court for the trophy ceremony and dealt with his condition while talking to the crowd. He didn’t provide details, but said, “I don’t feel good.”

“I’m so sorry for letting you down,” Sinner said. “From yesterday, I wasn’t feeling well. I was expecting it to improve in the middle of the night, but it got worse.

“I tried to come out, but at least I tried to play a small match, but I couldn’t handle it any more.”

This story will be updated.
