Carlos Alcaraz held his quarter-final match at the US Open on Tuesday, with a break from Zizi Lejachuka’s serve.

He did the same thing second. And he didn’t drop a service game for a 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 victory. That led to another dominant victory for Alcaraz, who has yet to drop a set in five games at the US Open.

The victory marks second seed Alkaraz’s semi-final round on Friday, and he will be in a heavyweight matchup against the spot that took place in the US Open Finals crisis. Alcaraz will win the winners of Tuesday’s fourth seeded American Taylor Fritz and seventh seed and 24th-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic match.

Both matchups will attract the full attention of our open fans. Djokovic holds a 5-3 lifetime record against Alkaraz in a series that includes four Grand Slam meetings. Djokovic defeated Alkaraz in the 2024 Olympic final. Alkaraz defeated Djokovic twice in the Grand Slam Finals in both times at Wimbledon (2023, 2024).

Alcaraz is 3-0 against Fritz, including this year’s semi-final victory at Wimbledon. Fritz made its way to the US Open Finals in 2024 and hopes for America’s biggest hope to secure the nation’s first men’s grand slam championship since Andy Roddick won the US Open in 2003.

Anyone he faces, Alcaraz will seek his sixth Grand Slam Championship and his second US Open title at the age of 22 after securing his first in 2022. He will shed tears in Friday’s semi-finals.

Alcaraz currently has each of the five US open matches in straight sets, two of which are facing seed players (32nd Luciano Dadeli, Round 3). He dropped a single service game throughout the tournament.

Tuesday’s victory saw even more of the same as Alcaraz set the tone with early breaks in each of the first two sets. After winning the first set, he found Lejachuka’s best shot with a sensational drop shot, out of his reach as he chased 30-15.

He came together to score points to take a 4-2 lead. He then defeated Lejachuka again to take a 5-2 lead before successfully completing the set.

Lehečka continued his serve early in the third time. But Alkaraz was inevitable. Alcaraz secured the first break in the third set, earning a 5-4 lead and serving the match. At that point, Alcaraz had won 67 service games at the US Open.

He went 68 out of 69 while shutting down Rehachuka at match points.
