Tottenham Hotspur’s asking price to sign AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has been revealed, and manager Thomas Frank is said to be a big fan.

Journalist Henry Winter has revealed that he believes Frank needs to sign a new centre-forward, despite Matthijs Tell and Richarlison joining the scoring list against Manchester United in Tottenham’s last game before the international break.

Richarlison is Spurs’ top scorer in the Premier League this season, with four goals, but the Brazilian has been inconsistent throughout his stay in north London, as pointed out by Ben Foster, who questioned his work ethic earlier this season.

Foster said: “He’s a very, very good player. After all, he’s a Brazilian player. He’s a world-class player, right? But sometimes he thinks, ‘Well, I’ve done enough for a while now. Let’s settle down now.’

Jamie O’Hara also singled out Tell for criticism earlier in the campaign, with Frank potentially looking to bring in a more consistent goalscorer in the near future, with the north Londoners firmly in the race to sign the Premier League star.

Tottenham are one of four Premier League clubs willing to pay 60 million euros (approximately 5.3 billion yen) for Bournemouth star Semenho, according to reports from Spain.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool would also be willing to spend big to sign the Ghanaian on a break-the-line deal, but given the player’s contract runs until 2030, the Cherries would be in a strong position to demand a big transfer fee.

Spurs have requested an update on the 25-year-old’s performance and have decided to target him as they want to sign an elite-level forward who can play both wide and through the middle.

Bournemouth’s Ryan Christie may have something to say about his team-mate’s departure. The Scot recently revealed how highly he thinks of the former Bristol City player, describing him as a “terribly good person”.

The Ghanaian international, who has played in 32 games, has been one of the stars of this season’s Premier League, having already contributed nine goals and currently sitting at the top of the scoring table, tied for third place.

Frank is also a big fan of wingers who can play on either flank, saying last season: “Semenyo can play wherever he wants to play. He’s a great player. I think he’s the best individual player for Bournemouth this season.”

With many of Tottenham’s attacking players in question, Semenyo could be the ideal addition to Frank’s squad and a £53m transfer fee seems reasonable given his level of performance this season.
