One of boxing’s most thrilling fighters has experienced a setback after losing his status as a rising star.

Eddie Hearn remains skeptical about Dana White’s plan to introduce Zuffa Boxing next month, especially since the promotion has yet to make any major announcements. There is curiosity surrounding the event’s location, the fighters involved, and what the debut will ultimately look like.

In the meantime, Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing recently showcased one of its major 2025 signees at their first event. Although Ben Whittaker finished strong in the November 29th show, he faced some disappointing news outside the ring.

Ben Whittaker is closing in on the individual who broke into his home during a fight last month. He won his Matchroom debut in Birmingham, England, against Benjamin Gabbazi in just one round. Despite the quick finish, Whittaker had to go through all the standard medical procedures and media obligations. The day after his win, he revealed his IBF International Light Heavyweight Title was stolen in a burglary while he was at the National Exhibition Center. The 28-year-old has appealed to the local community for information, offering a substantial reward. In a recent interview, Whittaker mentioned that although the issue isn’t fully resolved, he’s close to putting the matter behind him, noting that having such troubles means he’s on the right track in his career.

Whittaker, a former Olympic silver medalist known for one of boxing’s most captivating styles, is swiftly becoming an exciting new talent in the sport. He has connections with top fighters in his weight class, including David Benavidez, who moved up a division after holding WBC and WBA titles. In an interview with Boxing Scene, Whittaker praised Benavidez’s quest for greatness and revealed that he recently received a message from the Mexican star’s father expressing interest in arranging a match. Whittaker acknowledged he needs more experience before taking on a big fight, which he predicts could happen at Wembley.
