Glasgow Rangers winger Andreas Skov-Olsen scored his first goal for the club in front of fans in the 5-1 win over Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Wednesday night.
The result moved the Light Blues within three points of first place in the Scottish Premiership table and was a confidence booster for several members of the squad.
Oliver Antman had a goal and an assist off the bench, Bojan Miovski had a goal, Mikey Moore had a goal and an assist, and Skov Olsen also scored in a Gers jersey.
The Denmark international, who joined on loan from Wolfsburg in the January transfer window, failed to register a goal or assist in his first two league games for the Scottish giants.
His superb left-footed shot from near the penalty spot into the top corner on Wednesday night showed the kind of qualities Rangers hope to get from him this season.
Why Rangers must be patient with Andreas Skov-Olsen
Patience is a virtue rarely afforded in football, especially in a title-chasing team like Rangers. That’s why there were murmurs of discontent online after Skov Olsen played his first two games for the club.
The Danish winger, who started against Hibernian and Dundee, had just two shots and never created a ‘big chance’ for his team-mates from the right, but Gers won 3-0 at Dundee and held out a 0-0 draw at Hibs.
But Skov Olsen deserves patience as he joins Ibrox after a difficult year in Germany. From January 2025 to January 2026, he played in 20 Bundesliga games, scoring only two goals and one assist.
Prior to that, the left-footed prodigy was a constant display of quality at the top end of the pitch for Belgian club Brugge, contributing more than 16 goals in four consecutive seasons.
These stats show he has the potential to be a phenomenal player for Rangers, but he needs time to get back into form after a disappointing year at Wolfsburg, which is why he needs patience after scoring against Kilmarnock on Wednesday.
Some supporters may be hoping that Skov Olsen’s form with Brugge will make him the club’s best signing since Hamza Igamane, who scored 16 goals last season before moving to Lille, but there is another star who could win that title.
Rangers star looks like best signing since Igamane
It is no exaggeration to say that Igamane has been the club’s greatest achievement in recent seasons, having gone from being an unknown player in his native Morocco for a fee of £1.7m to becoming a superstar.
The Moroccan centre-forward played just one season for the Scottish giants, scoring 16 goals and netting the club nearly £9 million when he left to sign for Lille.
This was an incredible addition by the Light Blues, who at the time were led by Nils Koppen and Philipp Clement. Danny Rolle now appears to have secured the club’s biggest-ever contract since Igamane, who became the club’s biggest-selling player.
Rangers’ highest turnover in history
Who left Ibrox for the most money?
Tour-Romence joined Gers from Belgian side Westerlo in January for a fee of around £3m and surprised supporters with his debut against Kilmarnock.
The left-footed starlet came off the bench with 25 minutes remaining and, despite having limited minutes on the pitch, changed the game for Rangers with his intensity and dynamism playing as a left-back.

Romens raced into the box to cut out the ball for the Finnish international, brilliantly assisting Ant-Man’s first goal for Rangers, and sparking Moore’s attack with a Marcelo-like down-the-line clip.
Not to make too much of a fuss after only making one appearance, but the Belgian full-back looked like a former Real Madrid star coming out of retirement to play at Ibrox.
The 22-year-old star, who was hailed as “fantastic” by Heart & Hand’s David Edgar, looked calm on the ball, quick-thinking and made great decisions in the final third, which is why he created two “big chances” in 25 minutes.
Lomence has created half the number of ‘big chances’ (two) in 25 minutes as Jayden Meghoma has created in 1,771 minutes in the Premiership this season (four), suggesting he is ready to provide far more chances than the Brentford loanee at the top end of the pitch.
Skov Olsen will need time to settle in and develop his overall game, but the former Westeros star looks ready to make an immediate impact after an impressive debut against Kilmarnock.
Romance could have a big impact in the second half of the season as he can add more creativity, intensity and quality. Meghoma has produced little, but that’s what makes the young defender such a great signing.
Like Igamane, Skov Olsen is only at Ibrox on loan for now, although if the Belgian full-back continues to perform like he did on his debut for the club, he could eventually join Rangers’ list of most expensive sales.
Worse than Miovski: Rangers star just proved why Rolle needs to sign Jert Dahl
This Glasgow Rangers failure showed why the club needed to sign Jens Geert Dahl to replace Danny Rohr in the summer.
