Former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is getting closer and closer to taking over at Liverpool and wants Arda Guler as one of his first signings.
Guler has shown himself to be a very exciting young talent during his time at the Bernabéu and seems to have made a real impression on Alonso.

The Spanish tactician was sacked after just 34 games in charge of Real Madrid this season, but his impressive work at former club Bayer Leverkusen and his ties with Liverpool from his playing days make him a strong candidate for the Reds.
And Ficages said he would like to bring Guler to Anfield if he were to replace the out-of-form Arne Slott.
What Xabi Alonso has said about Arda Güler in the past
Alonso was full of praise for Güler’s “quality” earlier this season, saying how the Turkey international reminded him of Mesut Ozil and Guti’s crosses.
“It’s not just because of his origins, but also because of his quality. He’s between Ozil and Guti, because Guti can also play close to the crease while providing the last pass,” Alonso said.
“The more we find Arda, the better we can play. We have to keep pushing to improve his game, but I’m satisfied.”
Will Arda Güler strengthen Liverpool?
It could make sense for Guler to work under Alonso again, and LFC will no doubt be looking to make changes in their attacking midfield department this summer.
The 21-year-old, who has scored four goals and provided 12 assists for Real this season, looks like a creative talent who could ease the burden on Florian Wirtz in that area of the pitch and provide further impetus for the likes of Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike.

Guler, who has been doing well for Madrid, won’t come cheap, but it could be a good investment in a top young talent.
There may be more proven options, but if Guler ends up joining and forming part of Alonso’s new team, few fans will complain.
