Between 2024/15 and 2022/23, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane only had three seasons in which he failed to reach 20 goals in the Premier League, and throughout his consistent prolific form, he never scored fewer than 17 goals.
For comparison, Son Heung-min scored 17 goals himself in 2023/24, while Brennan Johnson was the league’s top scorer last season with just 11 goals.
Richarlison, on the other hand, leads the table this time with just nine points.

It’s fair to say the Lilywhites haven’t come close to replacing the England captain since Randall Kolo Muani left for Bayern Munich in 2025 following a particularly dire spell in north London.

N17 has been far from a positive campaign, and the ENIC government is likely to revisit the summer investment as a reason for concern.
In fact, star Xavi Simons, who scored twice in the recent win over Atletico Madrid, has been frustratingly inconsistent, while Mohamed Kudus has had his brilliant start to the game halted by injury.
But Kolo Muani was perhaps the most disappointing, with the Paris Saint-Germain striker scoring just his only goal in the Premier League all season, despite having just signed on loan.
Whether playing centrally or out wide, the Frenchman was hopelessly ineffective, scoring two of his five goals for the club during the Croatian’s seven-game stay, but his only real bright moment came during the arrival of Igor Tudor.
In 15 Premier League starts, the 27-year-old has just one assist en route to his only goal, averaging just 0.7 key passes, 0.7 completed dribbles and just 19.6 touches per game.
For a player who paid around £74m to move to PSG in 2023, and who played in the World Cup final in 2022, this is a desperately poor performance and will rightly be considered the club’s worst signing of the summer and season in N17.
A permanent deal should not be on the table at all this summer, especially as new manager Roberto de Zerbi is likely to be offered a perfect in-house replacement.

Despite the obsession with contracts, there is nothing better than having a ‘own player’ doing business at first-team level. The aforementioned Kane has shaken off the spell of mixed loans and emerged as north London’s undisputed talisman.

The hope is that young Mikey Moore can enjoy a similar trajectory over the next few years, and this summer is likely to be the perfect time for De Zerbi to bring him into the fold.
Rather than consider leaving to keep Kolo Muani permanently, the Italian could strengthen the attack with a home-grown solution. Moore is on loan at Rangers and is very much alive.
The 18-year-old, who is usually used on the left but is also comfortable as a second striker, has been the driving force behind the Ibrox side’s title-winning run, scoring six Premiership goals since Danny Rolle took over in December.
But that doesn’t tell the whole story. Despite his youth, the teenager has been something of a talisman under Roll’s regime, starting the last eight league games and scoring or assisting in four of the last games.
Even when he wasn’t in the final product, Moore was a joy to watch, putting in a memorable and brilliant performance in the Old Firm last month, threatening opposition right-back Julian Araujo in the first half.
Despite Gers’ desire to keep him beyond next season, the youngster, who played a fleeting role in last season’s Europa League triumph, admits he is hoping to break into the first team again this summer.
He looks well on his way to becoming Spurs’ biggest academy success story since Kane and with De Zerbi now at the helm, Moore will likely find a manager keen to develop young talent.
With Son leaving, the £25m-rated starlet could well be an in-house solution for Spurs and De Zerbi, as neither Matthijs Tell nor Kolo Muani are yet to fully fill the hole on the left.
“I just want to get back to Tottenham and hopefully earn a place in the team,” he said, according to BBC Sport.
“Of course we have the experience of winning trophies in the Europa League and that’s what I want to do at Tottenham. I just want them to give the fans a special moment.”
Supporters would probably prefer to see youngsters given a chance, rather than investing in a volatile, high-profile addition like Kolo Muani.
