According to According to Correio da Manha via SportWitness, the Magpies are the favorites to sign Luis Suarez, who contributed 44 goals in his debut campaign in Portugal. The Tyneside club have already inquired about the possibility of signing the 28-year-old.
Suarez joined Sporting from UD Almeria in a deal worth 22.95 million euros last summer. They brought him in to replace Victor Gokeres, who left the club to join Arsenal. He definitely filled the void left by the Swedish striker.Scored 35 goals and 9 assists I went out 50 times.
His performances have attracted the attention of Newcastle United, who are looking to sign a new striker. They have not been able to replace Alexander Isak, who was forced to leave last summer. As a result, Howe remains keen to improve his firepower ahead of next season.

Newcastle will have to pay. 80 million euros for Suarez
The Tyneside club are leading the race to sign him, but given Sporting’s stance on his future, securing his signature will still not be easy. His contract runs until 2030, so they are in full control of the situation and will only allow him to leave if his contract is terminated. A termination penalty of 80 million euros will be imposed.
The asking price is certainly on the high side for those who only value 28 million euros. It will be interesting to see if the Magpies are willing to comply with Sporting’s demands. Given their financial limitations, that seems unlikely. However, if Nick Waltemade, who is rumored to be leaving the club, leaves the club, that is a possibility.
