Chelsea brutally mocked Arsenal’s Champions League final defeat in a cheeky post on social media.

On Saturday night, the Gunners suffered the ultimate heartbreak at the Puskas Arena as they lost 4-3 in a nerve-wracking penalty shootout against Paris Saint-Germain that ended 1-1 after extra time.

While Mikel Arteta’s side were beaten on the pitch in Budapest, Chelsea’s social media team wasted no time in reminding their London rivals of the capital’s rigid football hierarchy.

Chelsea mocks Arsenal with cheeky Champions League bargain

Almost at the same moment Gabriel Magalhães sent Arsenal’s winning penalty over the crossbar to seal PSG’s victory, a Chelsea official said. × The account uploaded a seemingly innocuous advertisement for the Stamford Bridge Stadium Tour.

However, this expression left no doubt as to its true intentions. “We invite you to visit the home of trophies in London,” the post sharply read, accompanied by two star emojis and a prominent, glowing image of the famous Champions League trophy.

The two stars directly represent the Blues’ own European triumphs in 2012 and 2021.

By setting up the capital Stamford Bridge as the true home of the silverware at the precise moment Arsenal were defeated, this brutal, cold-blooded rant quickly went viral, attracting thousands of interactions from jubilant Chelsea supporters and furious Gunners fans.

Arsenal have yet to win the Champions League trophy

The reason for such a nuanced dig into the North London faithful is rooted in historical vulnerability.

Despite their incredible domestic success, breaking a 22-year drought to win the Premier League title earlier this month, Arsenal have yet to win the Champions League.

The heartbreaking defeat against PSG was the second time the Gunners had fallen at the final hurdle, matching their only finals loss to Barcelona in 2006.

Meanwhile, Chelsea remain the only London club to ever win Europe’s most prestigious award.

By twisting the knife on social media, the Blues reminded Arsenal of the vast historical gap that still separates their rivals, even on nights when they are not on the pitch.
