Bukayo Saka’s time at Arsenal has been a hot topic. It hasn’t always been easy for the winger, from making his debut in the Europa League under Unai Emery, to missing the crucial spot-kick in the Euro finals, to becoming Premier League champions.

He is extremely talented and is not only Arsenal’s best player but also one of England’s big hopes for this summer’s World Cup.

Sure, Saka’s numbers have decreased slightly over the last year, but he’s still an elite-level talent. Now Mikel Arteta and Kroenkes need to give him yet another world-class attacker.

If there was one criticism during their title-winning season, it was that they struggled to score regularly. The 11 matches of the 2025/26 season ended 1-0 against Arsenal. you know the song It is customary for the Gunners to do things that way.

But now is the time to show a little more ambition.

Arsenal considering signing two new wingers

Immediately after the Champions League final, Arteta declared war. “If we want to reach another level, we have to make some very important decisions and we have to show that ambition. We are very capable of doing that, but it will require us to be very, very ambitious, very fast and very smart.”

Well, if the rumors are true, the hierarchy is set to match the manager’s ambitions by handing him a pretty heavy transfer kitty.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rodgers is being targeted alongside Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Crupi. The pair are thought to be Arsenal’s top targets and would be an absolutely stunning signing for the champions.

The latest news from Rodgers is that while negotiations are underway with the player, discussions between the clubs have yet to take place.

The Gunners are moving ahead with plans for a new contract, with Leicester City’s exciting teenager Jeremy Monga also in talks.

Arsenal are already close to signing a bigger talent than Crupi

Eli Junior Crupi is one of Arsenal’s main targets this summer.

Last week, it was reported that the Gunners had agreed personal terms with the player, with Fabrizio Romano providing an update on Monga’s situation on his YouTube channel.

Romano said: “Arsenal continues to work on signing a talented young boy. Arsenal want to sign him and are continuing negotiations and discussions. They expect other clubs to be interested in this young boy. He is someone they see as having potential and potential for future development.”

The price of the player will not be too expensive. The 16-year-old does not yet have a professional contract with Leicester, so the financial terms of his move are likely to be agreed through the courts.

Why Saka loves playing with Monga

Since Arteta arrived in the Emirates Stadium building, Saka has been his star boy and the man he turns to when the going gets tough. Even when things were going well, it was often the 24-year-old who led the way.

The English forward was the club’s top scorer in three of his six seasons in charge.

But his numbers have taken a hit for a variety of reasons, most notably injuries and decreased explosiveness, but also the fact that he’s regularly double-teamed by opponents.

Most of Arsenal’s attacks come down the right side of the pitch. Indeed, their build-up, when Martin Odegaard, Ben White and Saka are all fit and playing together, is certainly biased to the right.

The proof is there. Along with Saka, no other player has achieved better results than club captain Odegaard.

However, while there is an over-reliance on Saka, the players on the other side are simply not in the race. Gabriel Martinelli scored 11 goals in all competitions throughout the 2025/26 season, but only one of those came in the Premier League. It is no exaggeration to say that he was not an essential part of winning the title.

So did Leandro Trossard, but even he endured personal struggles, most notably failing to score in 25 straight games before getting sacked. that It was an important winner away against West Ham.

For a long time, Saka needed a left-sided winger who could replicate his success, a player who could attract attention and draw defenders to the other side of the pitch. That would give the Hail Ender more freedom and more room to do his thing.

Monga may not be an immediate addition, but the future is bright for this young talent. Despite his age, he has already played 37 games as a senior. He is also the third youngest player in Premier League history, behind Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dauman.

Importantly, he has all the qualities to be an elite winger. The teenager, hailed by Como scout Ben Mattinson as ‘England’s Ousmane Dembele’, is fleet-footed and destructive inside the penalty area.

He is a great dribbler in football and looks a bit like Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku when he starts feinting inside the penalty area.

Speaking to Football.London last week, Leicester City writer Josh Holland offered insight into Monga’s best qualities. “Monga plays football as if he were playing on the street. He is a good ball carrier and is obsessed with beating opponents and moving forward.”

Holland continued: “His best position is on the left wing, where he gets high/wide and collects the ball near the touchline before driving inside. He’s strong with both feet and has incredible agility.”

That seems to be exactly the type of winger Saka would like to play with. He needs someone to take pressure off the right side. He needs someone who can create a similar level of threat from the left.

Although Monga won’t be joining the starting XI right away, the future is incredibly bright for this young player. He looks like one of the best English talents in this country.
