Sky Sports F1 has strengthened its presenting team by bringing on new talent. Alexa Rendell has been appointed as an F1 Multimedia Journalist and will make her first appearance this weekend at the São Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil.
Rendell’s role will involve reporting from various locations within the F1 paddock and engaging in live coverage for Sky Sports. She will conduct interviews with drivers, team principals, and other influential figures in the sport. Prior to this, Rendell has experience presenting for Formula E, the World Endurance Championship, Extreme E, and the F1 Academy.
Expressing her excitement, Rendell said, “I’m really thrilled to be joining the Sky Sports F1 family. Formula 1 has always been my first passion, and Sky has played a part in my journey since my teenage years when I first attended industry events through their access programs. Joining the team now feels like a special full-circle moment. I look forward to starting in Brazil and telling the unique stories that make this sport so extraordinary. With an influx of new fans, I’m eager to help connect with them and present F1 in innovative and engaging ways.”
Billy McGinty, Sky Sports’ Director of F1, welcomed Rendell, stating: “We are thrilled to have Alexa join us. She is a rising talent in motorsport broadcasting with a natural ability to resonate with audiences. As Formula 1 continues to grow and reach new fans, it’s vital that our coverage adapts, finding fresh ways to share the stories and bring supporters closer to the personalities and memorable moments that define F1.”
Earlier this year, Sky Sports secured a new five-year contract to remain the UK broadcaster of Formula 1 until 2034.
