Better to err on the side of caution…
After UFC Vegas 124 took place last night (Saturday, November 7, 2026) at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that three fighters were taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary medical evaluations following their bouts.
The fighters involved were Thomas Petersen, Murtazali Magomedov, and Jonny Parsons.
Thomas Petersen (12-5) was hospitalized to undergo CT scans of his head and face after securing a third-round technical knockout victory over UFC newcomer Gabriel Lorenco. Despite facing heavy punishment and being knocked down multiple times during a rough first round, Petersen recovered, gained the upper hand as Lorenco faded, and finished the fight with just 13 seconds left. Petersen earned a $100,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his comeback win. Known as “The Train,” Petersen has experienced a back-and-forth UFC tenure since earning his contract through the Contender Series, now holding a 4-4 record inside the Octagon.
Murtazali Magomedov (12-0) was also transported for precautionary CT scans after his unanimous decision victory over Jose Delano, handing the Brazilian his first UFC loss. The 27-year-old prospect from Kyrgyzstan improved to 2-0 in the UFC following his contract win on the Contender Series. Magomedov made history during his UFC debut by executing the rare Scottish Twister submission on Melsik Baghdasaryan in just 77 seconds.
Jonny Parsons (9-4) was taken for precautionary head and face scans after suffering a brutal first-round knockout defeat at the hands of Jose Souza in the opening fight of UFC Vegas 124. Parsons, known as “The Sluggernaut,” was making his first appearance in over three years following recovery from severe hip and groin injuries. Sadly, his comeback was cut short by Souza’s devastating right uppercut-left hook combo. This loss ended Parsons’ six-fight winning streak and marked his first defeat inside the UFC.
At the time of reporting, the results of these medical scans have not been made public. It is standard practice for the UFC to send fighters to the hospital as a precaution, especially after hard-fought battles or severe knockouts.
