  • Chelsea refused to meet Sancho’s wage demands
  • Traveling from Man United is inevitable for Sancho

With a dramatic shift in the event, Jadon Sancho is set to return to Manchester United after Chelsea failed to reach an agreement over personal terms with England International.

As Athletic reported, the deal between the two clubs collapsed due to a dispute over the player’s wage demands.

Sancho, which had been on loan at Stamford Bridge since the start of the season, was expected to make the move permanent following a mixed, promising second half of the season.

But negotiations over a long-term deal hit a wall when Chelsea revealed he would not meet his current salary at Man United.

The Blues included the option to buy a loan agreement, but it was not required.

As the club is trying to maintain a tough wage structure under the new administration, Chelsea ultimately chose to leave the deal rather than crush the inward pay cap.

Having wanted to find stability and playing time after a difficult spell at United under Eric Ten Hug, Sancho is now facing fresh uncertainty.

His return to Old Trafford is expected to be short-lived, allowing both players and clubs to explore new permanent destinations during the summer transfer period.

German and Italian clubs, including Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, have previously expressed interest in the former Dortmund star.

Sancho officially returns to United at the end of June and will be available for pre-season training unless new moves are secured prior to that.

His next step will be important in reviving a career that was once promised but has struggled with consistency since the big money move to Old Trafford in 2021.

United and Chelsea could be in the transfer race this summer, along with both clubs chasing Brighton’s left-back Pervis Estupine.
