LONDON – Ben Shelton rose to second place in the ATP rankings on Monday, joining fourth-placed Taylor Fritz and number 8 Tommy Paul, giving America three men in the top 10 for the first time in nearly 20 years.

In April 2006, Andy Roddick came in fourth, James Blake was seventh, and Andre Agassi was tenth.

There are four American women in the WTA top 10 this week, with five in the top 13. Cocogoff, No. 2. 3 Jessica Pegra, No. 6 Madison Keys, No. 9 Emmanavaro, No. 13 Amanda Animova.

Aryna Sabalenka was the spot that took over from Iga Swiatek in October in October, falling to 8th place on Monday.

Tatjana Maria, a 37-year-old German, rose from 43rd to 43rd on Monday by winning the Queens Club title as a qualifier.

Shelton, 22, won the 2022 NCAA Singles title at the University of Florida, is just his third full season on tour. He never left the US until 2023.

Shelton is a two-time Grand Slam semifinalist, and has been around the US Open in 2023 and the Australian Open in January this year.

Fritz rose three spots to match his career high after winning the Grass Court title in Stuttgart, Germany on Sunday. The top three men remained the same: No. Jannik Sinner of 1, No. Runner-up for 2Carlos Alcaraz, number 3 Alexander Zverev and Fritz of Stuttgart.
