Wimbledon starts with a familiar face that is expected to bring home a male title if the sportsbook line and odds history is believed.

Carlos Alcaraz (+120) and Jannik Sinner (+190) are clear favourites for winning the men’s tournament at ESPN BET. Novak Jjokovic (+600) is the only player under +1000 before falling to Jack Draper at +1600.

Aryna Sabalenka (+240) leads the women’s field with past Grand Slam champions Elena Rivakina (+550), Igagov (+650), Kokogov (+750) and Madison Keys (+1200), according to ESPN BET odds.

Alkaraz and Thinner, the world rankings and winners of the past six Grand Slam titles, have been incredibly popular with the betting masses. Draftkings reports that the pair has combined 82% of all tickets, while Fanduel says it combines 78% of its funds. Alcaraz is a significant portion of the stock on both sites, accounting for 59% of bets at DraftKings and 58% of Fanduel’s handles.

Djokovic and the Draper attract a significant amount of action on their own, and some big money bettors are potentially supporting them. 24-time major champion Jjokovic has 20% of the Draftkings handle and just 7% of the stakes, and Draper plays in the home tournament after achieving the No. 4 career-high ATP rankings and has 21.3% of the money on 7.9% of BetMGM tickets.

Sabalenka and Gouf are fresh from their showdown at the French Open Finals, a clear preference for the masses of betting on the women’s side, winning 58% of bets at Draftkings and 74% of BetMGM handles. Another potential American champion who won the Australian Open this year is also popular, with Fundererel reporting 7% of bets and 8% of handles, focusing on 10.5% of handles, the third-highest in all three categories.

Since Serena Williams’ victory as a +160 favorite in 2016, the female Wimbledon champion has been a loser. According to Sportsoddshistory.com, all the final winners took part in more than +1200 tournaments when Ashleigh Barty was his second favorite in 2021 (+650).

The past three tournaments have reflected this trend, with Rybakina (100-1 in 2022), Mareta Vondrousova (100-1 in 2023) and Barbora Krejcikova (125-1 in 2024) all coming in the odds of triple digits.
