Chris Finch believes the Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t approach Shy Gilgauss Alexander’s play the right way.

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves to take on Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a strong 31-point performance to get the victory. Former Nuggets head coach Michael Malone called SGA the MVP’s favorite for his performance.

However, NBA fans were once again critical of Shy’s reliance on free throws. Even Doris Burke called out Gilgauss Alexander’s free throw antics.

Chris Finch believes that Shy Gilgaus Alexander has made the Timberwolves better.

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch spoke about how his players handled the frustration that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander received many calls after Game 1.

Finch pointed out that while they may be frustrating, he hopes his players will be too focused on complaining and more on reaching the next play.

“There was a lot of frustration there. We talked about it before the series began. We kind of have to be able to put it by the side and continue the mentality of the next play.”

Finch is absolutely right. Yes, there’s room for questioning the judges, but players cannot derail the game.

His player Finch, who is dissatisfied with the phone that SGA painted, said:

The Minnesota Timber Wolves need to perform better in Game 2. Julius Randle scored 18 points in the first half.

The appearance of Randle as a legitimate second option was a surprise. With the Knicks, especially considering his injuries issues last season.

However, Randle has to take yet another big step to help the Timberwolves compete in this series. Anthony Edwards can’t do it alone.

The Timberwolves show their ability to adapt after suffering losses in the playoffs. The hope now is that this loss has shown them the path forward.
