According to several sources, Florian Wiltz told Bayer Leverkusen that he would like to join Liverpool this summer.
Wirtz, one of the game’s most popular midfielders at the moment, wasted the full length of the campaign, including the 2023/24 Bundesliga title victory, and wasted everything Leverkusen did under Xabi Alonso. With two years remaining on his contract, Leverkusen reportedly values his services at 150 million euros.
Thus the race has returned to two clubs, Liverpool and Bayern Munich, but even Munich knows that the 22-year-old prefers Anfield over Allianz Arena as his destination.
Wirtz is believed to have already accepted a contract offer from the Premier League champions. The Premier League champions will need to find a contract with Leverkusen on the size and structure of the fees. This deal appears to include players in other ways, as the Vandesliga side is seeking additional additions to several squad divisions.
