Friday’s Top MLB Picks: Ketel Marte Crushing Reds, Mets Clash with Rockies, Home Run Bets & More Exciting Baseball Action

Happy Friday, everyone! After enjoying a strong winning streak on the Line last Friday night, we hit a rough patch last week but made up for it with some karma bets. Having gone 4-1 in the two previous updates, it’s time to refocus with two solid plays today, stepping away from the big home run prop attempts. Let’s dive in.

This Friday’s lines come from DraftKings.

Welfare MARTE Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-105)
Ketel Marte of the Diamondbacks is riding high after an exciting nine-inning comeback against the Braves on Thursday. The team is headed to Cincinnati, a hitter-friendly ballpark where Marte has historically thrived. In 21 games at Great American Ballpark, he boasts a .310 average with a .390 on-base and a .690 slugging percentage, including two doubles, two triples, seven homers, 17 RBIs, and 14 runs scored.

The Reds’ starter Nick Lodolo has struggled with a 6.15 ERA and poor home performances this season. Marte, a strong all-around hitter, often exploits softer spots in the Diamondbacks’ lineup to counter lefties like Lodolo. Expecting a standout performance tonight.

Mets-Rockies Over 10.5 Runs (-115)
The Mets’ offense at Coors Field against Colorado’s Antonio Senzatela is quite potent. Senzatela has endured a 7.42 ERA at Coors this season and a league-worst number of hits allowed. The Mets recently hit him for seven runs on eight hits over four innings in his last outing.

It’s smart to back both offenses here since the Rockies also have scoring potential. Mets’ starter Kodai Senga is pitching at Coors Field for the first time, where the thin air reduces pitch movement crucial to his success—especially his signature forkball and cutters. The Rockies saw Senga last week in New York and managed two runs in six innings, so their offense might also capitalize on this familiarity.

Home Run Pick: Juan Soto (+350)
Soto has played three of his last six games at Coors Field and holds eight career home runs in 101 plate appearances there. He’s hit four homers off Senzatela in his career and scored twice the last time they faced off on May 31. While the odds aren’t massive, this is a strong home run bet for tonight.

Futures Bet: Matt Shaw to Win NL Rookie of the Year (+750)
Cubs’ Matt Shaw, who was briefly sent down to the minors after a rough start, has come back strong. He’s hit .327/.373/.436 with six doubles, four RBIs, nine runs, and seven stolen bases over 15 games since returning. Shaw has helped strengthen the Cubs’ lineup, which needed it most.

Through the season so far, Shaw has a .248/.331/.336 line (94 OPS+), and his 1.1 WAR leads NL rookie catchers aside from Willson Contreras. The NL rookie class is thin this year, offering Shaw a big opportunity. With plenty of season left and the Cubs leading their division, now is the perfect time to back Shaw at +750.

Fan Take:
This report highlights key matchups and emerging players that could shape individual games and the season’s narrative. Watching stars like Marte and Soto perform in hitter-friendly parks, plus rising talent like Matt Shaw, keeps baseball fans engaged with fresh storylines and exciting prospects for the future of the sport.
