Transfer News expert Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool centre back Jarrel Cuanza should “quickly” complete the move to Bayer Lebakusen.

According to Romano, when that happened, Liverpool was interested in signing Mark Guech and could see something like the Domino effect in the defender market.

The Crystal Palace Central Defender has been shining in the Premier League and has recently been shining for the England national team, making it ideal for Liverpool as an alternative and upgrade to Quanza.

Meanwhile, according to a post by Romano X, the palace could also target the signature of Osmanedio Mande, a talented young centre-back in Lisbon.

Guehi is a great signature to strengthen this Liverpool team and could potentially give Reds a long-term alternative to the aging Virgil Van Dijk.

On top of that, the LFC has Ibrahima Conate in the final year of his contract, so it may be necessary to replace him with Anfield soon.

Marca reported that Real Madrid is keen on Conate and could see them plummeting for the French on a free transfer if he didn’t sign a new contract right away.

Conate is working well for the club, so that’s going to be a big hit for Liverpool, but at Guehi he’ll be signing another of the top defensive players in the Premier League.

Liverpool can have a very new lookback 4

If Guehi joins Liverpool, we could have seen a very different back four lined up for the Reds next season.

Trent Alexander Arnold left Liverpool for Real Madrid, where Jeremy Fripon joined from Bayer Leberkusen to replace him with right back.

Also, there may be changes in left-back as Milos Kerquez’s immediate participation is expected to be widely involved and Andrew Robertson’s future is expected to be questionable.

That could mean Liverpool’s Frimon, Kerkez, Vandik and Gehi back four. He is one of the players on the team that won the Premier League title in 2024/25.

Frimpong, Kerkez and Guehi are all top talents, but it will be interesting to see how the LFC deal with that many changes in one area of the pitch in such a rapid succession.
