Newcastle United reportedly are watching double transfer agreements between Nottingham Forest right winger Anthony Elanga and Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford.

Elanga is already eligible for bids from Newcastle, and according to Athletic, Forest has declined an opening offer in the £45 million region.

Currently, Shields Gazette reports that while Magpies are still pursuing Elanga for £55 million, they could also invest up to £30 million to sign Trafford.

Both are the best Premier League players for the NUFC in preparation for their return to playing in the Champions League next season.

Newcastle fans will be excited by the news. Because their clubs seem to be seriously ambitious business this summer.

Eddie Howe appears to be set up to receive two quality signatures in the form of Elanga and Trafford, but the club is also doing well to hold on to the star name.

Despite speculation about Alexander Isaac, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimarè, Newcastle should be able to maintain all three important star names.

If they could bring in Elanga and Trafford and perhaps bring in one or two more signatures on the cheap, they should be in a really strong position to go for a new season.

Not only did Howe bring Newcastle to Carabao Cup glory in the previous period, but also qualified for the Champions League.
